Upcoming Local Archery Events

Summer Solstice Challenge
11 & 12 June 2005

I have received no reports from the autocrat of this event, but advertisements in the kingdom newsletter and on various news groups state that it is to include archery. Look for more details to follow on the email group.

Subsidiary Groups / Deputy Officers Reports

I have received no reports from Scola Metallorum, The College of Three Spires, or the forming and/or incipient Cantons of Bloodstone Keep, or Canton of Ravenhurst. I do not believe that they are participating in the archery program.

As of this writing I have received no report from THL Angus Montgomery the Forrester, the Hawks Hollow Captain of Archers, for the month of May. I did receive his April Report on 6 May 2005.

Lord Tyrfingr von Wolfsberg ran the 8 May Practice as the Marshal In Charge, and submitted the scores for that practice. He also assisted in the running of lines at additional Caerthe Archery Practices. I would like to publicly thank Lord Tyrfingr for his dedication to the archery program, and for all of his work as one of my deputies during my tenure of office.

Herrin Drahomira von Augsburg will be submitting her Letter of Intent to assume the duties as the Caerthe Captain of Archers in the very near future. Since she is the only Marshal of the Field that dwells within the boundaries of Caerthe that has volunteered for the job, her acceptance by The Honorable Lord Óengus ua Faeláin, Archer General of the Outlands, should be mostly a formality... Sir Ramon the Chronologer and Lady Catherine de Northwoode, Baron and Baroness of Caerthe have already been consulted; and she was found an acceptable replacement. She has steadfastly assisted in the running of the baronial program, and I would not only thank her for her past services, but also, thank her again for volunteering to assume the office of Captain of Archers. She would like to thank all of the local archers for continuing to come out and having fun with us!

Final Report, Captain of Archers

Well, this will be my last monthly report...

I am grateful for the opportunity my Lieges, my kindom officers, and my Barons and Baronesses have given me to serve them in the office of Captain of Archers for the last few years.

I am weary. I have worked hard to grow the local archery program; maintaining, and hopefully improving on the wonderful and strong program that I took over. I have attempted to provide and maintain the highest standards of safety, while allowing the most active, most skilled, and largest number of Outlandish archers to have as much fun as I could. But now, it is time for someone else’s ideas. It was my attempts to maintain continuous interaction within the archery community that helped me to understand those things that our local archers wanted, and then, I simply tried to provide it to them.

I continue to learn and grow, as will my replacement; so, please continue to voice your opinions and ideas of how best to improve our local archery community. I have always supported and encouraged this constant dialogue between “my” archers and myself, for it is my belief that this dialogue has allowed me to better meet the needs of those I served.

I sincerely thank you for the privilege of having been allowed to serve you as your Captain of Archers.

I have every confidence in my replacement, and I look forward to continuing my service to my Kingdom, and my Barony, as her emergency deputy until another individual is able to fill that role.

Here ends my May 2005 Report.

Humbly Submitted, this 20th day of May A.S. XL (2005 C.E.)
